Quotation: "Essentially Chaos is a meta-philosophy by which one can use magic. Chaotes work with any system that suits, from ancient culture to new age to the Smurfs, using them as tools to achieve results. The idea is that religion often becomes a crutch, that no religion can be objectively proven any more true then any other (ie. I can't prove to you Aset exists anymore then you can prove to me JHVH does), and therefore it is assumed that neither of them do exist (or at least IMHO that either might exist, but it doesn't matter if they exist or not). In other words, nothing is known to be true, but anything is permitted as long as it achieves your goal.
A Chaote avoids dogmatism and is destructive in that Chaos necessitates destroying personal beliefs or assumptions that are restrictive. They are able to change their minds, view things from opposing angles if it achieves the goal, and "put on" any system that works. As Phil Hine said, "It has been pointed out that we invest a lot of time and energy in being right. What's wrong with being wrong occasionally?". Chaos requires personal experience - not armchair theorising but actually participating in the magic. Chaotes do not borrow things from other cultures haphazardly though, and try to immerse themself in a culture or system in deep technical detail so as to best understand and use it. Chaos is characterized by deconditioning ourselves from our egos and assumptions, using diverse approaches, and is often practiced in conjunction with studies in theoretical physics, psychology, technopaganism, shamanism, etc. "
